Dr. Nancy Larsen, M.S., D.V.M.

I grew up on a farm in northern Utah. This gave me the opportunity to study and interact with many cats as well as dogs and farm animals. When the farm veterinarian would come to take care of the animals, I would follow him around observing every move. It was only a matter of time until I became a veterinarian. I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1993. Since that time I have worked with various veterinary clinics in northern Utah. I became interested in alternative health care options in 1995 when I was introduced to Reiki

and soon became a Reiki Master under the auspice of Joy Hoban. In 1998, I began looking for other options to treat patients whose condition I felt was insufficiently managed by Western medicine. As a result, I enrolled in Colorado State University's Acupuncture for Veterinarians course and received a certificate in 1998. In the spring of 2004, I decided it was time to give my feline friends their own veterinary clinic and Dancing Cats Feline Health Center was born. Dancing Cats Feline Health Center is Utah's first and only all-cats veterinary clinic. My clients tell me that I have a real knack for handling their feline friends.

Charlene Crowell, Veterinary Nurse

I enjoy being at Dancing Cats Feline Health Center because we take care of the best clients and their owners. It's great to see the reactions of people when they know they are getting the best possible care.

Heather McShane, Veterinary Nurse and Receptionist

My parents' first children were the cats. I was second on the food chain. I have worked for 8 different vets at 3 different clinics over 12 years, but feel most at home at Dancing Cats. I can't wait to meet all the patients and their parents.

Janis Moore, Accountant and Receptionist

Growing up in Southern California I was very allergic to cats, so my pets were goldfish and a desert tortoise. After moving to Utah 17 years ago, my allergy mysteriously disappeared and I discovered just how much I love and enjoy cats. To make up for lost time, I now have 6 cats. I enjoy working at Dancing Cats keeping the books and records straight. It's a pleasure to see all the many different cats that come in and meet their owners.

Judy Swenson, Veterinary Nurse

I can't remember a time that I didn't have a pet, usually a cat. It seems like I have been in the service industry my whole working life. For 27 years, I was a 911 dispatcher and now I find myself working for the very vet I searched for to help my cerebellar hypoplasiac cat. I have the greatest respect for Dr. Larsen. She has tremendous skill as a healer and daily teaches me more about being a veterinary nurse. Working at Dancing Cats is a wonderful experience. I couldn't ask for a better job.

Linda McDevitt, Veterinary Nurse

My job is wonderful! I work with a dedicated veterinarian and caring people who really love your cat as much as you do. Our clinic offers an open-door policy. This means that for most procedures, you may be with your pet during treatment. I've worked with several veterinarians over many years. I have always had companion animals: dogs, cats, rats, hamsters and others. I currently have three cats and 4 pet sheep outside the city. I am a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I look forward to serving you to the best of my ability.

LuAnn Gibbons, Veterinary Nurse

I have always had a connection with cats. As a young child, I was always finding cats and bringing them home. I have also loved dogs, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, mice and birds. I've worked at Dancing Cats for two and one-half years. I still love cats, find cats and bring them home.

Jake, Office Cat

I was born at Dancing Cats and have lived here with my mom Amy all of my life. I am pretty mellow, so I donate blood or act as the training cat. I am featured on a Jones soda bottle that can be seen in the reception area. Everyone here treats me like a king. I do what I can to contribute to the health and well-being of my fellow felines.

Amy, Office Cat and Jake's mom

I came to Dancing Cats as a pregnant feral cat. I had a litter of cats, including Jake and have lived here ever since. I continue to nurture my feral spirit and watch the people and cats here from high places. Once in awhile, I forget my feral roots and let someone pet me for a split second. You may see me on top of a shelf in the reception area or on a high place in the room behind the receptionist's desk. I know all and tell little.
